Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

Biomolecular and General Health Journal (BGHJ) is a peer-reviewed open access journal that publishes original research, reviews, and case. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process: editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher. BGHJ adheres to the ethical standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and supports open scientific communication through the principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability.

  1. Duties of Editors

Fair Evaluation

Editors evaluate submitted manuscripts based on academic merit—importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s focus—without regard to authors’ race, gender, religion, ethnicity, institutional affiliation, or political views.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts submitted to Biomolecular and General Health Journal are treated as confidential documents. Editors and staff must not disclose any information about a manuscript to anyone other than those directly involved in the review and publication process.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors will not use unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for personal research. Any editor with a potential conflict of interest will withdraw from the editorial process for the manuscript in question.

Publication Decision

Manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Final decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ feedback, scientific quality, and editorial relevance.

Investigations

The editorial team will investigate and act upon any ethical concerns related to a manuscript, even post-publication. Appropriate corrections or retractions will be issued when necessary.

  1. Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer reviewers assist editors in making publication decisions and help authors improve their work through constructive criticism.

Timeliness

Reviewers should respond promptly and notify the editor if they are unable to complete the review on time.

Confidentiality and Objectivity

Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential and review them objectively, avoiding personal criticism.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant, uncited works and alert editors to potential plagiarism or duplicate submission.

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts in which they have any conflicts of interest and must not use any privileged information for personal gain.

  1. Duties of Authors

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure submitted works are original. Any use of others' work must be properly cited. Plagiarism in all forms is unethical and unacceptable.

Multiple Submissions

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently or submit previously published work without disclosure.

Authorship

All listed authors must have contributed significantly to the research and approved the final manuscript. Contributions by individuals not qualifying for authorship should be acknowledged.

Data Access and Retention

Authors should be ready to provide raw data and ensure its accessibility for at least ten years post-publication.

Ethical Considerations

Studies involving human participants or animals must include appropriate ethical approval and informed consent, and adhere to institutional and national guidelines.

Conflicts of Interest

All potential conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise, must be disclosed at the time of submission.

Errors in Published Works

Authors must notify the journal if they discover significant errors in their published work and cooperate to issue corrections or retractions.

  1. Duties of the Publisher

Ethical Oversight

The publisher will work with editors to ensure the integrity of the academic record and respond to allegations of misconduct, issuing retractions or corrections when appropriate.

Long-term Access

The publisher ensures the preservation of and public access to published content through partnerships and archival services.

This ethics policy is subject to updates in alignment with evolving standards and practices in academic publishing. BGHJ is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethics and integrity in all aspects of its operations.
